Washington, Mar 10 : Former Army ranger turned bank robber, Luke Elliott Sommer, 23, formerly of Peachland, British Columbia, Canada, was sentenced on Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Seattle to an additional 20 years in prison and a $25,000 fine for assault with a deadly weapon and solicitation of a crime of violence.

A Canadian-born former U.S. Army Ranger imprisoned for leading a heavily armed bank heist in Tacoma, Wash., four years ago has had 20 years added to his existing sentence for stabbing a former crony and trying to have a prosecutor murdered.
